Hunza 6 Days Trip Plan

Day 1: Departure for Hunza Valley Tour

On this day, the participants will travel to Kaghan Valley. We will take three stops along the route: Haripur, Abbottabad, and Balakot. The scenery and landscape along this road are incredible. It will be a wonderful experience to see lush green hills, freshwater streams, glaciers, alpine trees, and much more. Kunhar River will flow on the banks of the Naran River.

There will be a gorgeous view on the road trip that will make it an unforgettable experience. Our route will include a few tea stops. Guest will have lunch after arriving at the hotel and rest for a few minutes. In the meantime, participants can go for a walk or a sightseeing excursion after the break.

Day 2: Travel to Explore Hunza via KKH/Naran

Early in the morning, the participants will begin their journey. In the sunshine, the valley will have a very vibrant aesthetic. Additionally, it’s a good time to take some pictures along the way. Participants will stop at Lulusar Lake for a short break along the road. The Babusar Pass (4173m) is the next stop for participants to have a tea break. As the tour proceeds, the participants will visit Hunza Valley.

When they reach Chillas, they experience a dramatic change from lush green hills to rugged dry mountains. Traveling along the Karakoram Highway, considered the 8th wonder of the world by many of our guests, the participants will also enjoy exploring local villages. During a tour of the Karakoram Highway, participants get a chance to see Nanga Parbat 8,126 meters high. Before reaching the hotel in Hunza Valley, participants will stop to admire Rakaposhi (7,788 m).

Day 3: Hunza Valley Local Guided Tour

In this day’s activities, participants will interact with historians, musicians, and storytellers as they visit the historic Baltit Fort (700 years old) and Altit Fort (900 years old). Our travel guides are always locals from the Hunza Valley who can explain the culture, history, and norms of the Hunza, so you have the best experience.
We always have a lot to tell our guests about the local culture through our local guides. In addition to visiting Leif Larson Music School in Altit, participants will also have the opportunity to spend some time in the Royal Gardens. Khabasi Café serves some of the most delicious local cuisine. Participants can also enjoy a cup of coffee. During their visit to Duikar before sunset, participants will witness the sunset over the mighty Karakorum.

Day 4: Khunjerab Pass & Attabad Lake Excursion

On this day, participants will drive to the Pakistan-China border (Khunjerab Pass), one of the most beautiful road trips of Hunza Valley. Ganish is a 1,000-year-old civilization that participants will pass through. Their first stop will be the ancient rock carvings and sacred rocks. Within half an hour after crossing the Ganish bridge, the participants will travel along Attabad Lake. Upper Hunza has many attractions along the Karakoram Highway.

Participants will travel through Hussaini Glacier and Passu Village. Their route will include Shispar Peak (7,611 m), Passu Peak (7,284 m), and the infamous Passu Cones/Cathedral (above 6,000 m). In Khyber, the participants will pass through the Wildlife Conservation Area and enter the Khunjerab National Park. On arrival at the world’s highest border, Khunjerab Pass (4,733 m), guests meet Chinese tourists from the opposite direction.

Guests can capture mesmerizing landscapes and even see snowfall in summer on a lucky day. Upon returning to Sost, the participants have the opportunity to shop for Chinese goods (watches, electronics, etc.). On this day, the participants will be able to visit Karimabad Market. Herbs, caps, dry fruit, and many other items are available. Karimabad offers shopping opportunities for handicrafts, gemstones, and clothing during free time.

Day 5: Drive back to Naran Kaghan Valley

Today, the participants will return to Naran Kaghan Valley. They will travel the same route to Naran (Kaghan Valley), stopping for quick breaks during the trip. In the afternoon, they will arrive in Naran. Once they arrive, They can explore the Naran Bazaar.

Day 6: Travel back to Lahore / Islamabad

It is now time for the participants to move on to Islamabad. While traveling, travelers will make quick stops. A trip from Naran to Islamabad takes approximately 7-8 hours. We will conclude this Hunza Valley Tour upon arrival in Islamabad.

Which route is best to reach at Hunza Valley?

There are three travel routes to reach Hunza:

  1. One through the Karakorum Highway in KPK in winter season when Naran-Babusar Pass route is closed due to heavy snowfall. (November to May)
  2. And the other, the shorter one via Babusar Pass from Naran Valley which used in summer season when snow melted. If you take this route, consider visiting Saif-ul-Maluk and Lulusar Lake in the Valley. The Naran route will only open in the Summer (June to September) and have surreal scenes for visitors.
  3. You can also take direct flight from Islamabad to Gilgit Airport to visit Hunza Valley.

PIA has two direct flights daily to Gilgit from Islamabad only. The people of Lahore or Islamabad must reach Islamabad Airport to get the flight to Gilgit. Flight timings are only in time and depend on weather conditions. PIA flights are operational throughout the year’s daily schedule. We will book your flight, or you can also book your flight from their official websites.

What are Tours Terms & Conditions?

  1. Standard hotel check-in time is 12:00 pm, and check-out time is 10:00 am.
  2. Meals other than those specified are an exclusion from the package.
  3. Vehicles will be provided as per the group size.
  4. ACs don’t work in Hilly Areas as the climate is moderate.
  5. Hotels are subject to availability; guests will be accommodated in similar properties if unavailable.
  6. The monument entry fee and camera charges are not included in the package.
  7. Children above 8 years of age will be considered adults only. There are no charges for children below 5 years of age.
  8. All international and domestic airfare, visa fees, airport tax, or any insurance cover is not a part of the package.
  9. Govt. Approved ID is mandatory for each guest when booking and upon arrival. 
  10. All foreign nationals must share their passport and visa details when booking and upon arrival.
  11. Prices might greatly vary on Blackout Dates(special dates like Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, New Year’s, etc.). You can connect with us directly to get the best rates for these days.
  12. The prices may vary based on the season and the number of travelers traveling per day in a specific region, as there is limited hotel availability in hilly areas.
  13. Any deviation from the Vehicle’s planned route at the customer’s request during the tour will be chargeable per km basis.
  14. Any breakage or damage of items at the hotels/resorts/camps/vehicles will be charged at actuals.
  15. The package cost will not accommodate personal expenses like portage, tips, laundry, mineral water, etc.
  16. TripMaker reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any disturbances (i.e., severe weather conditions, political unrest or others).
  17. Any rescheduling/rearrangement of a package due to circumstances beyond TripMaker’s control might invite additional hotel charges and/or vehicle charges.
  18. If a traveler wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, the traveler will bear all the expenses from that point onwards. Neither the operator nor TripMaker will be responsible for such decisions or refunds.
  19. Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations. Travelers littering may be fined.
