Sheosar Lake is situated in one of the highest plateaus in the world, the Deosai Plateau, elevated at 4,114 meters (13,497 ft) above sea level.
The lake is accessible through two routes, Skardu and the Astore district. During spring, Sheosar Lake and its surrounding area are covered with a wide variety of wildflowers and butterflies.
From November to May, the whole area of Deosai is covered with heavy snow glaciers and unable to visit in the winter season. However, the area has much natural beauty during the Spring and Summer seasons. During spring, the whole surrounding gets covered with a wide variety of colorful flowers and butterflies. The best time to visit this beautiful lake is in summer (June to early September).
