During the Taliban’s occupation of Swat, some militants destroyed it. However, now that Swat is free and safe again, the resort has been rebuilt to its former splendor.
Other than skiing, guests may participate in a variety of other activities such as hiking and trekking. Every year a ski championship is also held in which skiers participate from across the world. The government of KPK does support this championship and makes security and other arrangements to make it happen smoothly.
There are two trekking routes close to the resort that provide stunning panoramic views. The Shangla Top is a trek of about 18 kilometers from the facility. With breathtaking views, you may also enjoy a heavenly chairlift ride. Ice skating and ziplining services are also available.
The Swat Valley is chock-full of ancient, important relics from past civilizations that ruled over these areas. Some of them may be found in Malam Jabba as well. There is a wide diversity of landscapes, cultures, and social factors in Pakistan. In addition to Samson’s resort Malam Jabba, there are many other tourist attractions. You can go skiing, riding a chairlift, and zip lining. In winter, the best time to visit is during the holiday season. Snow sports such as skiing and snowboarding are available in the winter.
A ski area is not easily accessible in Pakistan, and there are relatively few places that have a short journey to one. The road is good enough to drive a regular car with two-wheel drive on it. However, if easy access can be obtained, visitors should consider taking a 4WD. There are some cracks in the road and it’s under construction, but it’s wide and safe. Nevertheless, please allow a relatively long time for reach due to bad road conditions.
There is a reasonable distance between Mingora and the lake, so a day trip is possible. A number of hotels are on Malam Jabba’s top, but the most impressive hotel is still under construction: the resort. There are plans to make this resort a five-star hotel.
A chair lift takes one to the top point of the mountain, where a walking track is one of the main attractions. You will find simple refreshments available, but there will be no fine dining. A good meal can be taken from Mingora or can be prepared in one of the hotels around.
Although zip lines make more noise than speed, they are extremely popular with young children.
It was beautiful there during summer, but I hope that a winter visit will reveal even more of its beauty. Check the weather before visit this attraction.
Stunning scenery and a beautiful location. The construction of a star-level hotel is currently underway. Several other non-rated good hotels are located nearby. You may need up to two hours to go up from Madian Road. All types of transportation, including normal cars, are accessible in fair weather. When it rains, it is not recommended for cars because of flowing debris, stones, and flooded dips.
There were quite a few bumps in the road, so we had to hire a local car to get there. There are a lot of Toyota Fielder cars in the town; I have no idea why! During our visit to Mallam Jabba, I saw cable cars and we hopped on them. The tickets cost PKR 1500 each. Children are offered rides by some horse riders.
On the mountain top are only makeshift canteens and hiking tracks when you get off the cable car. It was an incredible scene from above with the clouds lower than you. Hiking up on the mountain is also quite rewarding. However, there are no facilities for the elderly or children. In July, the temperature was slightly cooler 25 degrees Celsius.
There are a lot of fun things to do in Malam Jabba Swat Valley. There are great skiing opportunities there. Bring extra warm clothing for changing after your snow fun. Make sure your shoes and clothing are waterproof. Snowy Mountain is a great place for slides, and you can sit on the tyre and take them. The price is very nominal at 1500 PKR per person.
On the mountaintop, you can take the chairlift to the top, and then slip on the tyre to return to the foothills. Having fun is a real treat. You will need to bring your food and drinks since there are no restaurants. It is not a good idea to rent boots from the temporary shops there. Additionally, there are no bathrooms.
