Mahodand Lake, known as the Lake of Fishes, is situated in the upper Usho Valley of Kalam, District Swat, Pakistan. It is regarded as one of the most stunning lakes globally. The ideal time to visit this location is from April to September. Between June and August, visitors can appreciate the lush greenery and have the opportunity to see glaciers up close.

Positioned at an elevation of 2,865 meters, Mahodand Lake is encircled by meadows and dense forests. The shorelines of the lake are adorned with pine trees, enhancing its natural beauty. The lake’s water is refreshingly cool, and the scenery is breathtaking.

The main sources of the lake’s water are the melting glaciers and springs emerging from the Hindu Kush mountains. The lake’s water serves as a significant left tributary for the River Swat. In the winter months, the lake freezes over and is blanketed in heavy snow. During summer, crowds flock to the lake to share joyful experiences with family and friends. Tourists can also partake in adventurous activities such as fishing, boating, and camping.

Access to the lake is possible from Kalam by 4×4 Jeep or private vehicle; however, it is advisable to travel by a 4×4 Jeep.
